Phil arrived home. A note had been left in the car park as a reply, they realised they must have missed each other by minutes.  The others had got to Stanage End after a long walk, and ascended 3 difficult climbs. After leaving Stanage: they had left the note, gone to Outside, and then finding it closed, headed over to the Plough Inn.  Everybody had caught up on gossip and had a consummate day.

BMC

The BMC has created an electronic notice board on their web site (www.thebmc.co.uk) to help reduce traffic via the use of lift sharing and the use of public transport.

The threat of a funicular railway still hangs over the northern Cairngorms. The Highland council have given planning permission, the fate of the development rests with the Cairngorm Chairlift Company, and if they can secure enough public and private funding. The BMC are urging us to write to our local MP and to make representation to the Scottish Office and Treasury that this project should not obtain public funding.

The BMC has negotiated access to Chain Gang Wall at Pen Trwyn.  Witches Quarry a naturally protected Limestone quarry in Lancashire, offering routes from Severe to E4, has been re-opened after a 15 year ban.

Its tendrils imbuing texture, shadow and form
The light brought with it the warmth of cuddle,
And life began to uncurl from its muddle
Dawn had eased away the duvet of the night
No longer was the man blind and sightless
